Before day 1: establish your baseline
Take a mixed diagnostic without notes. Record both incorrect answers and correct guesses, then assign each gap to one of the four CAPM domains.
- Choose a repeatable daily study window.
- Create an error log with concept, cause, correction, and retest date.
- Keep the current PMI exam content outline available as your scope boundary.
Days 1–7: foundations and core concepts
Study project lifecycles, organizational structures, roles, ethics, governance, stakeholders, communication, risk, and the difference between projects, programs, portfolios, and operations.
- Days 1–2: lifecycle, environment, and roles.
- Days 3–4: stakeholders, communication, leadership, and conflict.
- Days 5–6: risk, quality, governance, and ethics.
- Day 7: closed-notes retrieval plus a mixed scenario set.
Days 8–13: predictive, plan-based work
Connect scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, procurement, risk, and change control. Calculations matter, but always ask what the result means for the next decision.
- Build a small work breakdown structure and network diagram.
- Interpret variance and performance signals rather than memorizing formulas alone.
- Practice distinguishing an approved change from an informal request.
- Retest weak predictive objectives on day 13.
Days 14–19: agile frameworks and adaptive delivery
Learn values, roles, events, artifacts, estimation, prioritization, flow, feedback, and servant leadership. Contrast adaptive choices with predictive governance instead of studying agile as an isolated vocabulary list.
- Map Scrum roles and events to their purpose.
- Practice backlog refinement, iteration planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Compare iterative, incremental, and hybrid delivery.
- Use scenarios involving impediments and changing priorities.
Days 20–25: business analysis
Practice identifying needs, eliciting and prioritizing requirements, maintaining traceability, defining acceptance criteria, validating outcomes, and connecting deliverables to benefits.
- Distinguish product scope from project scope.
- Match elicitation techniques to stakeholders and uncertainty.
- Trace a requirement from business need through acceptance.
- Practice evaluating whether delivered work creates intended value.
Days 26–30: integrate, time, and decide
Move from isolated domains to timed mixed sets. Review explanations, not just scores, and concentrate the final days on recurring causes of error.
- Day 26: mixed set and error classification.
- Day 27: targeted weak-domain retrieval.
- Day 28: timed mixed set under exam-like conditions.
- Day 29: light review of high-value errors and formulas.
- Day 30: readiness decision, logistics check, and rest plan.
