Use the five domains as a coverage map
Start with the published weighting, then use diagnostic evidence to increase practice in weak domains.
- General Security Concepts — 12%
- Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Mitigations — 22%
- Security Architecture — 18%
- Security Operations — 28%
- Security Program Management and Oversight — 20%
Sequence the month for retrieval and transfer
Days 1–6: security objectives, control types, identity, and cryptography. Days 7–13: threat actors, vulnerabilities, indicators, and mitigation choices. Days 14–21: architecture, cloud, data protection, resilience, and segmentation. Days 22–30: logs, incident sequence, vulnerability management, governance, ports, acronyms, and mixed practice.
- Name the asset and security objective before choosing a tool.
- Explain where a control belongs and what risk it reduces.
- Practice incident actions in a defensible sequence.
- Keep an error log by concept, scenario misread, architecture choice, and recall gap.
Prepare for performance-based work
For a diagram or configuration task, inventory assets, users, data flows, protocols, trust boundaries, and constraints first. Place the minimum effective controls, then verify that required business traffic still works and privileged actions are observable.
Use multiple readiness signals
Combine mixed-domain accuracy, explanation quality, PBQ-style control placement, port and acronym recall, pacing, and improvement in repeated weak areas. PrepVanta does not predict or guarantee an official result.
